It's been a while since I have updated my blog. I think I'll just post a bunch of "little happenings," as opposed to one big one.
Here it goes.... :)

INDONESIAN CLUB
My friend, Annie, convinced me to join the Indonesian "chapter," aka 'club,' here on campus. So...I did :) And it is so much fun! We get together a few times a month and play games, eat food, and have firesides. The Indonesian students are so kind and welcoming. They are always laughing and just having a wonderful time. I'm glad that I get to learn about them and their culture.
These are some pics of the Indonesian Club...plus some of Annie and I at the La'ie Temple :)

TURTLE BAY & HUKILAU BEACH
A few weeks ago, when the sun was shining, I went with a group of friends up to Turtle Bay on North Shore. We played around in the water for a while, it is so pretty there! And....my favorite part...WE SAW AND SWAM WITH A SEA TURTLE!!! This sea turtle was just out for a little joy ride, swimming right below/next to us! It was the best thing of my life. I absolutely love sea turtles! I wish I had a picture to put on here. My friend got a picture of it on her underwater camera, but the film hasn't been developed yet. That was one of the highlights of the whole time living here!
After Turtle Bay, we went back down to a beach called Hukilau. It was a perfect beach day! The shine was shining, it was hot, the water was clear and blue, and we were ready for the sun! Makes for a GREAT day :) I remember this weekend so well because the sun was out! It's been SO rainy here ever since I came back in January. I think there have been a total of two weekends when the sun was actually shining. Though I'm not really one to complain because I love the rain :) But I have to admit, it's nice when the sun comes out and we can spend the day at the beach or going on a hike.

CROUCHING LION HIKE
A couple weekends ago, my friends and I did a hike called 'Crouching Lion.' It was a really great hike. It was pretty muddy because of all the rain we've been getting, but the mud made it that much more fun :) The view from the top was beautiful. It's amazing to look out and see the ocean go on endlessly. What a beautiful island Oahu is!

JAPANESE TEMPLE & HONOLULU ZOO
On President's Day, we got a big group together and went to both the Japanese Buddhist Temple and the Honolulu Zoo. It was neat to see the Japanese Temple again (I saw it with my parents and sister when we came last April.) The zoo was awesome too. I much prefer aquariums to zoos, but still it was fun to see :) All in all, it was a great, fun, busy day off school. I love those kind of days!

COLOR DANCE
This weekend there was a color-chalk dance. It's pretty much like the Festival of Colors or the Color Run. It was a M-E-S-S! Not only were there a bunch of crazy college students throwing chalk everywhere, but it also started pouring rain at the dance. Color chalk + Rain + Mud + College Students = One big mess! We were COVERED in mud and chalk. We scrubbed forever to get it all off. Haha, it was really fun. I'm usually more of a "cleanly" person, I have a hard time getting my hands dirty, literally. But there comes a time when you just have to relax and let it go. I was a complete mess that night, but I had an absolute blast!
